Government approves program to provide water to war-affected regions

The program provides for the construction and reconstruction of water supply systems in 9 regions of Ukraine. By the end of 2025, 2 million Ukrainians in 5 regions will have access to water, and Mykolaiv region will be provided with water in a year.
The government has approved a program that provides for the construction and reconstruction of water supply systems in 9 regions of Ukraine affected by the war, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said after a government meeting, UNN reports.
The government has approved a program of comprehensive water supply for the territories affected by the war. This refers to nine regions: Dnipropetrovs'k, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson
The program, he said, includes the construction of water supply systems, reconstruction and overhaul of hydraulic structures, clearing of riverbeds, and construction of artesian wells.
"As a result of its implementation, Mykolaiv region should be provided with water within a year. And by the end of 2025, another 2 million Ukrainians in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions will have access to water," the Prime Minister said.
