General Staff: Defense forces in the Pokrovsk sector have repelled 28 enemy attacks today

As of 16:00, the number of hostile attacks in the frontline increased to 78. The enemy continues to be most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where it conducted about forty percent of all combat operations in Ukraine. This was reported  by the General Staff on August 22, according to UNN.

According to the General Staff, the enemy continues to try to advance into the depths of Ukraine's territory, defense forces are holding back the invaders, causing significant losses. 

According to the General Staff, the situation in the areas is as follows: 

In Kharkiv sector , the occupants stormed the positions of our units near Vovchansk twice. The battle continues. The situation is under control. The enemy also launched multiple rocket launchers from a Ka-52 helicopter in the area of Kozacha Lopan.

The enemy attacked Ukrainian positions seven times in the Kupyansk sector. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka and in the direction of Lozova. The area of Kruhlyakivka came under attack by two Russian air bombs.

In the Liman sector, enemy units attacked in the areas of Novosadove, Hrekivka, Terny, Nevske, Torske and Dibrova. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops have repelled seven enemy attacks in this sector. Another battle is underway near Makiivka. The situation is under control, the General Staff said. 

In the Northern sector, the enemy attacked near Bilohorivka, Vyymka and Spirne - the occupants tried unsuccessfully to break through our defense five times.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders carried out six assault operations near Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Hryhorivka and Chasovyi Yar. The latter was attacked with 22 unguided aerial missiles.

In the Toretsk sector , the number of enemy attacks so far amounts to four. Today the enemy attacked in the areas of New York and Nelipivka. Our defenders are giving the enemy a decent fight back - all the engagements have been completed. The aggressor's aviation struck Druzhba twice with unguided aerial missiles, and terrorists dropped two UAVs near Pleshchiyivka.

The largest number of combat engagements was registered in the Pokrovsk sector . Thus, since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 33 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelenyi Pole, Mykhailivka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Mykolayivka, Ptychyi, Kamyshivka, Myroliubivka and Novotroitske. Almost half of all the fighting took place near Mykolaivka and Novohrodivka. Defense forces have already repelled 28 enemy attacks in the area, holding back the enemy's offensive.

In the Kurakhove sector, the invaders attacked our units 10 times, trying to advance near Kostiantynivka and Karlivka. The fighting continues.

In the Vremivsk sector, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops three times - they are trying to advance to Vuhledar and from Volodymyrivka.

In the Orikhivsk sector, Novodanylivka was hit by UAVs and Novoandriivka, Novodarivka and Pyatikhatky were hit by unguided aerial missiles.

The enemy did not conduct any assault operations in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
