The leaders of the world's 20 largest economies issued a statement expressing concern over the escalation of the war in Ukraine and Gaza and emphasizing the importance of international cooperation to overcome global challenges such as climate change, poverty reduction and improved tax policies.

The G20 Summit has become an important platform for discussing pressing global issues. The leaders met against the backdrop of global political changes, in particular, with Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration as President of the United States in January 2025. The war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip were among the central issues on the agenda.

Noting the “human suffering” and serious economic consequences of the war in Ukraine, the summit participants called for an immediate end to the violence and the provision of humanitarian aid. In particular, the statement notes that the catastrophic situation in Gaza is “deeply disturbing,” and the G20 countries called for an urgent ceasefire, protection of civilians, and greater international support for the region.

However, despite the difficulties in formulating common positions, in particular after the recent massive air strikes by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the participants managed to reach agreement on the humanitarian aspects of the conflicts.

As for other global issues, the leaders reaffirmed the need for closer cooperation in the fight against climate change, in particular by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting sustainable technologies. They also discussed tax policy, emphasizing the importance of improving it to achieve greater global equity.
