"Firefighters in Ivano-Frankivsk region have extinguished a fire in the forest. The fire broke out last night on the outskirts of the village of Mykulychyn, Nadvirna district," the SES reported on Telegram.
As noted, due to the lack of access roads, rescuers walked almost a kilometer and a half to the site of the fire in the Yamnyansky forestry. They also conducted aerial reconnaissance.
"It took five hours for the rescuers to extinguish the fire over an area of 0.5 hectares. The fire destroyed dry vegetation, shrubs and forest floor," the SES said.
The agency urged people to follow fire safety rules that will help prevent fires in ecosystems and preserve the environment.
