FIFA has unveiled an updated golden trophy for the Club World Cup that can be transformed. The surface of the cup is engraved with inscriptions in 13 languages, including Russian.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has unveiled the updated FIFA Club World Cup trophy, which will be awarded to the winner of the revamped tournament. The trophy is made of gold and can be transformed from a shield into a multifaceted and orbital structure. Its surface is engraved with inscriptions, including in Russian. This is reported by the FIFA website, UNN reports.

"Created in collaboration with TiffanyAndCo, this trophy will be awarded for the first time to the winners of the revamped Club World Cup tournament to be held next year," FIFA said.

FIFA emphasized that the trophy represents the world of club football - a celebration of hope, excellence and pride, embodying the journey of every club, player and fan united by their passion for the beautiful game.

"Inspired by pioneering voyages, the Mendeleev periodic table, and astronomy, each glint of gold reflects the relentless pursuit of greatness. It unites the world and symbolizes the past, present and future, preserving the legacy of club football for future generations," FIFA added.

Federation President Gianni Infantino said that "the trophy had to be innovative, inclusive, pioneering and truly global, like this competition. The FIFA Club World Cup Trophy - a perfect equivalent to our iconic FIFA World Cup - is a revolutionary symbol of a bright, new future for club football inspired by the past.

The trophy is made of gold, and its surface is laser engraved with vivid images of the rich history and culture of the beautiful game, from dynamic players and fans to the date of FIFA's founding.

The inscriptions on the trophy are engraved in 13 languages, including Ancient Greek, Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian.

In particular, on one side of the trophy you can see an inscription in Russian: "football unites the world", although the Russian national team and Russian clubs were excluded from all tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The cup also has a message for the champions: "For those who hold this trophy, history belongs to you. You have witnessed a moment that represents the pinnacle of club football, given to a few but celebrated by many.

Addendum

The Club World Cup is the official successor to the Intercontinental Cup, which was played from 1960 to 2004. The first draw of the tournament took place in 2000, but due to the bankruptcy of the championship sponsor ISL, the second draw took place only 5 years later - in 2005.

Until 2025, only 8 teams took part in the tournament - the winners of the CONCACAF Champions League, CAF Champions League, AFC Champions League, AFC Champions League 2023 and the host country. First, the teams play in the playoff round and the top 2 teams advance to the semifinals, where they meet the winners of the Libertadores Cup and the Champions League.

Starting in 2025, the number of teams will increase to 32, divided into 8 groups. The tournament will be held in the United States next summer. Europe will be represented by 12 teams, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Borussia D, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Salzburg.

Real Madrid has the most victories at the Club World Cup with 5 trophies, and Cristiano Ronaldo is the tournament's top scorer with 7 goals.

The current winner of the trophy is Manchester City, which in 2023 made it to the tournament by winning the Champions League, where it defeated Brazilian Fluminense in the final.
