Expert on the cost of restoration of Trypillia TPP: tens of billions of hryvnias
Kyiv • UNN
The full restoration of the Trypillia TPP, which was destroyed by a Russian missile strike, could take up to 7 years and cost tens of billions of hryvnias.
The full restoration of the Tripillya TPP destroyed by Russia may take up to seven years and cost tens of billions of hryvnias. Former Minister of Energy and Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Energy Assembly Ivan Plachkov told UNN.
"The situation is very difficult, critical. Trypillia TPP produced about 300-400 megawatts, which is a very large capacity for the balance," Plachkov said.
According to him, in order to improve the situation, all resources, both technical and human, need to be mobilized.
"The situation can only improve if all resources - technical and human - are mobilized, and funding is needed. The energy sector lacks funds to carry out repairs and restoration. There are very large debts in the energy market and the issue of financing is not resolved. We need a source of funding," Plachkov said.
When asked how much it might cost to fully restore the Trypillia TPP, Plachkov replied: "We can't talk about this today, it would require a lot of money. It is impossible to restore it in a month or a year or two. It will take at least 5-6 years. Up to 7 years, and it will cost tens of billions of hryvnias.
