EU approves €5 billion for Ukraine under the EPF

The EU Council confirmed the allocation of 5 billion euros under the European Peace Facility, including a special assistance fund for Ukraine to provide military equipment and training to support Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression.
Today, the Council of the European Union decided to increase the financial limit of the European Peace Facility (EPF) by 5 billion euros and approved the establishment of a special Fund for Assistance to Ukraine (UAF) within the EPF, UNN reports.
Through this fund, the European Union will support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression by providing the necessary assistance in the required amount.

The EU will continue to support the growing needs of the Ukrainian army by providing both lethal and non-lethal military equipment and training.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will work to maximize the contribution of the European Union by focusing on providing more effective operational support, complementing multilateral efforts of EU member states and focusing on increasing joint procurement in the European and Norwegian defense industries.
