eBook program launched in Ukraine: who can receive funds and how

The Diia app has launched the eBook program for 18-year-old Ukrainians. The state provides UAH 908 to buy books in Ukrainian, which must be spent within three months.
A new program eBook has been launched in the Diia app, UNN reports, citing Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Those who have turned 18 this year or will turn 18 in the next year will be able to receive UAH 908 from the state to purchase books published in Ukraine in the Ukrainian language.
How do I receive funds?
- In the Action app, select Services - eBook
- Open an account for eBooks in one of the banks from the list
- Apply for a payout
eBooks was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications to support Ukrainian publishers and motivate young people to read Ukrainian. If you turn 18 later, you will be able to apply for the eBook in the following years.
"Spend money on printed books, e-books, and audiobooks. The list of bookstores participating in the program is on the website of the Ukrainian Book Institute," informs Diia.
The money must be spent within three months from the date of accrual. Unused funds will be returned to the account of the Ukrainian Book Institute.

Earlier we wrote that the government is launching the eBook project to support book publishing. Starting December 16, Ukrainians who turn 18 in 2024 will be able to receive UAH 908 to buy books in Ukrainian.
