Deputy Head of the Federation of Trade Unions to be tried for illegal sale of real estate in Kyiv

The deputy chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions will stand trial for the illegal sale of a state sanatorium in Kyiv at a price far below its estimated value of over UAH 138 million.
The deputy chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, who participated in the illegal alienation of property worth more than UAH 138 million, will be brought to trial. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation, UNN reports.

It was established that in 2019, the deputy head of the Federation of Trade Unions, together with other officials, decided to sell the building of the state resort balneotherapy center in Kyiv. According to the conclusion of a forensic construction expertise, the total cost of the building was UAH 138 million 308 thousand. The hospital, which was not subject to alienation at all, was sold to a private enterprise at a much lower price.
The official is accused of embezzlement of other people's property, abuse of office by an official, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, in particularly large amounts (part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
