ActBlue, a nongovernmental organization that works with Democratic candidates, reported that donations to U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris (Democratic Party) reached $27.5 million in the first 5 hours after the country's leader Joe Biden (Democratic Party) dropped out of the presidential campaign.
Democrat-affiliated Actblue was expected to raise $55 million dollars in Sunday alone, according to US news site Politico. The Democratic Party likely set a record for the most money raised since Joe Biden's announcement, SVT writes.
