China successfully sent a new test satellite into space on Sunday to test internet technologies. This was reported by the country's central television, CCTV, according to UNN.

Details

The spacecraft was launched into low Earth orbit by a Long March-2D carrier rocket, which lifted off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan Province at 2:07 a.m. local time (9:07 p.m. Saturday Kyiv time).

The satellite is primarily used for technical testing and verification of direct broadband connection between mobile phones and the satellite, as well as integrated space-to-Earth network technologies.

The current launch marked the 646th flight of the Long March series carrier rockets.
