A business representative commented on the consequences of a possible renaming of Brovary.
If the Verkhovna Rada votes in favor of a resolution to rename the city of Brovary to Brovari, various companies and entrepreneurs will have to change all their documentation. And this is just one area of possible expenditure of significant funds. This opinion was voiced by Viktor Haidukov, Director of the Regional Development Department of Kyivkhlib, LLC, a deputy of the Brovary City Council, in a commentary to UNN.

"All businesses will have to change their documentation. New signs will have to be made in the city. Every resident will have to change everything. No one has calculated, but it is very expensive. These funds can be spent on the Armed Forces, and this is much more important today," said Victor Gaidukov.
The deputy reminded that on July 11, at an extraordinary session of the Brovary City Council, it was decided to appeal to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk with a request not to submit a resolution on renaming Brovary for consideration.
He emphasized that this appeal was based on the conclusions of scientists that it was inexpedient to change the name of the city.
"On July 11, we had an extraordinary session where the issue of appealing to the Verkhovna Rada to rename the city of Brovary to Brovari was raised. Information was provided on the expert opinion of scientists and historians. Referring to this information, I make an unequivocal conclusion that the city should not be renamed," Gaidukov summarized.

MP Vitalii Bezghin, who does not support renaming the city of Brovary to Brovari, notes that the community's opinion is not a convincing argument in this matter. He motivates his position by the fact that residents of cities with openly Soviet or imperial names are also against renaming.
Bezgin also arguesthat due to gaps in the legislation, the renaming of a settlement will not automatically entail the renaming of a community. Therefore, there will be no additional costs, in particular, for changing the documentation.
Context
At an extraordinary session, deputies of the Brovary City Council almost unanimously decided to support the initiative to preserve the name of the city of Brovary and to appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a petition to preserve the name of the city of Brovary, taking into account scientific and historical research.
A resolution to rename Brovary to Brovari was previously registered by a group of MPs led by a representative of the Golos faction, Roman Lozynskyi.
Commenting on the city council's decision, Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko noted that there are three conclusions of scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine that the name "Brovary" is historical and should be preserved.
He added that by voting at an extraordinary session, the deputies confirmed the position of the majority of Brovary residents who oppose changing the city's name.
