Latvia has called on Warsaw to resolve the situation with the blockades on the Polish-Ukrainian border and offers its assistance in this matter. This is stated in a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, reports UNN

It is noted that on November 25, Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karinš spoke with Polish Minister for EU Affairs Szymanek Szynkowski and urged him to seek a way out of the situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border due to the protest blockade of Polish carriers.

Ministers also discussed the upcoming decision of the European Council to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. 

The Latvian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Latvia's firm support for Ukraine, noting that Ukraine belongs to Europe, and Latvia is in favor of starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU this year.
