The world's most expensive cryptocurrency continues to grow rapidly and is already worth more than $81 thousand. UNN writes about this with reference to the data of the cryptocurrency exchange service.
Details
Bitcoin reached a record high of $81,792.4 by 00:18 EDT (05:18 GMT) and then traded at $81,217.4.
Overall, the cryptocurrency grew by 18.22% in just one week, all because of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election.
Prices for other cryptocurrencies also rose, with the Dogecoin meme token hitting a three-year high.
After the recent rally, the crypto markets have seen a decline in activity, and most of the leading altcoins are showing mixed dynamics on Monday.
However, Dogecoin was an exception, rising 24% to a three-year high of $0.280991. The rise of DOGE is driven by increased speculation around Elon Musk, a well-known token supporter who could potentially get a position in the Trump administration.
Other altcoins declined. The second most popular cryptocurrency, Ether, dropped by 1% to $3,152.49, although it remains close to a three-month high.
XRP, SOL, ADA, and MATIC changed by less than 1% in both directions.
