Kamikaze drone have successfully struck Russia's Tambov Powder Plant, a large ammunition and gunpowder manufacturing facility, despite Russia's denial of the attack. The attack on the enemy's military-industrial complex was a special operation by the GRU, the source said.

As a result of an operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate on the morning of July 4, the Tambov Powder Plant in the city of Kotovsk, Tambov region, was hit. According to UNN's source in Ukrainian intelligence, the attack was carried out using kamikaze drones, one of which successfully hit the enemy's military-industrial complex.

According to the source, the consequences of the hit, the degree of damage and information on enemy losses are currently being clarified.

At the same time, the official authorities of the aggressor state deny that the gunpowder plant was hit. The "governor" of the Tambov region, Maxim Yegorov, noted in particular that "both UAVs were destroyed. There are no casualties or damage. The situation is under control".

Nevertheless, local residents are posting videos online that clearly show the hit of one of the kamikaze drones, followed by detonation and fire on the territory of the facility.

"If two drones were shot down, why did they still arrive there? It certainly doesn't look like a downed drone. Are the authorities lying again?" one of the eyewitnesses of the downing asked rhetorically on social media.

"Of course, there was no hit. And there was no Tambov Powder Plant in this case either," a source in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine commented on the operation.

Recall

This is not the first time that the Tambov Powder Plant has been targeted by Ukrainian drones. On January 19 of this year, drones from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine already attacked the facility. Then one of the kamikaze drones exploded on the site near the gunpowder mixing shop. Drones also attacked the plant in November last year.

The Tambov Powder Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Russia that produces ammunition and powder for small arms. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the plant has increased production by a third. The company has been under sanctions since March 2023.
