This episode appeared on social media, through the recordings of Russian state media. However, the version published on the YouTube channel of the Russian Foreign Ministry does not include the moment with the phone conversation.

The microphones recorded the content of the conversation: an unknown caller asked her to refrain from commenting on the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine.

“The Southern Machine-Building Plant was hit by ballistic missiles, which the 'Westerners' started talking about, don't comment at all,” an unidentified person told Zakharova in a phone conversation.

The Kremlin has not yet commented on this information. Zakharova herself did not explain the situation and simply continued her speech. 

According to the Russian media, some analysts suggest that the incident could have been staged.
