Another 50 people were taken to two hospitals for treatment with mostly minor injuries. The authorities called the attack Islamist terrorism
The explosion in Marawi, a city besieged by Islamic State militants for five months in 2017, followed the killing of 11 combatants during a military operation in Maguindanao del Sur on Friday.
