The online meeting of the working group dedicated to the implementation of the Energy Security clause of the Peace Formula was attended by representatives of the Presidential Office, as well as more than 40 partner countries and international organizations that are members of the working group dedicated to energy security.
The communiqué, in particular, outlines the common vision of the participating countries regarding:
- security of civilian energy infrastructure during armed conflicts,
- rebuilding the energy system to improve global energy security and sustainability,
- protecting energy infrastructure from attacks.
"Deliberate and targeted attacks on civilian objects constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law and are unacceptable. A comprehensive, just and sustainable peace must guarantee the protection of Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure. This will have a positive impact on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and on human rights for all civilians," the document says.
