President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko regarding the investigation into all circumstances of the attack on people in Kyiv and the inaction of patrol police officers. This was reported by UNN with reference to the head of state's address on April 19.

As Zelenskyy noted, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine are jointly investigating the attack and verifying all facts regarding the killer, his condition, and how he obtained weapons.
At the same time, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko will make personnel decisions across the entire vertical of the agency.
Currently, eight people who were injured are in hospitals. One person is in extremely serious condition. All necessary assistance is being provided. It is necessary to review the protocols for responding to such situations, as well as the selection and training of patrol officers
Context
On April 18, an unknown assailant opened fire on people in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, resulting in one death and several injuries. Later, law enforcement officers reported that the assailant was killed during a special operation.
The neutralized terrorist is Dmytro Vasylchenkov, born in 1968, a native of Russia. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2004 in Donetsk region, and then returned to service in 2022.
