Beijing reported that the parties agreed to continue implementing previous trade agreements and achieved "generally balanced and positive results."
In particular, the US and China discussed market access for agricultural products and agreed to expand trade within the framework of mutual tariff reductions. Additionally, the parties agreed to establish trade and investment councils.
Separately, the situation surrounding Iran was discussed during the negotiations. According to Wang Yi, China urged the US and Iran to resolve disputes through negotiations and advocated for the swiftest possible restoration of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz following a ceasefire.
The parties also touched upon the topic of Russia's war against Ukraine.
