The statement was made during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Xi Jinping stated that the current situation is unstable and "could escalate into the law of the jungle if major powers do not adhere to international law."
Notably, the Chinese leader did not name Trump due to trade tariffs imposed by the US against China. Despite this, Trump intends to visit Beijing in April, and a visit by the Chinese leader to Washington is expected later this year.
Xi Jinping also noted that dialogue between Great Britain and China is "extremely important for world peace and stability and for the economies and peoples of the two countries."
