Answering questions from journalists, Hassett said that negotiations are currently underway with Moscow and Kyiv, and President Trump decided not to mix these two issues.

Obviously, negotiations are ongoing with Russia and Ukraine. And I think the President made the decision not to mix these two issues. This does not mean that Russia will not be treated completely differently from any other country in due course.
