US President-elect Donald Trump, after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris and amid the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, announced Ukraine's desire to conclude an agreement to stop the war and call for an immediate cease-fire and start negotiations.
This was stated by Trump in his social network Truth Social, reports UNN.

Assad is gone. He fled his country. His patron, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, was no longer interested in protecting him. There was no reason for Russia to be there at all. They have lost all interest in Syria because of Ukraine, where about 600,000 Russian soldiers are lying wounded or dead in a war that should never have started and can last forever
He noted that Russia and Iran are in a weakened state: Russia because of the war in Ukraine and a bad economy, and Iran because of Israel and its combat successes.
"Similarly, Zelensky and Ukraine would like to make a deal and stop the madness. They senselessly lost 400 thousand soldiers and many more civilians. We should immediately cease fire and start negotiations. Too many lives have been lost in vain, too many families have been destroyed, and if this continues, it could turn into something much bigger and much worse. I know Vladimir well. This is his time to act. China can help. The world is waiting, " Trump added.
