NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reacted to reports of China assisting Russia with military training, noting that "we are not naive," UNN reports, citing The Guardian.
Details
Rutte was asked about reports of China's assistance to Russia through training, as recently reported by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.
He stated that NATO is "constantly trying to monitor exactly what China is doing."
"We are not naive. We are monitoring everything closely. I cannot tell you more at this moment, or at least at this open press conference, but you can be sure that we are watching every [part]," Rutte said.
Addendum
In May, Reuters, citing data from three European intelligence agencies and documents, reported that China's armed forces secretly trained about 200 Russian military personnel in China late last year, and some of them subsequently returned to "fight in Ukraine."
