Ukraine has begun negotiations on a bilateral security agreement with the Czech Republic, UNN reports with reference to the OP.

Today's round of talks was led by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva. The Czech side was represented by Director General for Security and Multilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic David Konecsky.

The Czech Republic has demonstrated continued leadership in supporting Ukraine and encouraging other partners to implement bold and important initiatives, including the supply of ammunition to our country. We also feel the Czech Republic's strong support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO
The parties showed progress in preparing a draft of the future security agreement, exchanged views on its content, in particular on strengthening cooperation in the defense industry, and agreed on a schedule for further negotiations so that the two leaders could sign the agreement in the near future.

A week ago, during a meeting in Vilnius, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel discussed their readiness to conclude a bilateral security agreement. This is envisaged by the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, which was signed during the NATO Summit in Vilnius on July 12, 2023 .
