Speaking Wednesday night in Houston at the convention of one of the nation's most prominent black sororities in front of an audience of thousands of black women, Kamala Harris condemned former President Donald Trump's remarks criticizing her black identity.
Responding to a verbal jab from a Republican - Trump said that Harris “only recently started acting black”- the US Democratic candidate said that “America deserves better”.
“It was the same old show,” Vice President Kamala Harris said in Houston on Wednesday, referring to former President Donald J. Trump's comments about her identity.

Several of Harris' allies pointed to the League of Black Women, which supports her campaign and can counter attacks on her race and gender.

They argue that the vice president cannot directly respond to Mr. Trump's false claims about her race, but voters and organizers can defend her.
