Thailand and Cambodia agree on 13-point ceasefire deal

Thailand and Cambodia on Thursday reached an agreement on a 13-point plan to implement a ceasefire to ease tensions on the disputed border after five days of armed clashes last month, the governments of both countries confirmed, writes UNN.

The meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) (between Thailand and Cambodia) has concluded. The parties agreed on a 13-point ceasefire agreement, and representatives of both countries signed an agreed protocol aimed at resolving border tensions and restoring peace on the border.

The Cambodian government confirmed the agreement.

"The extraordinary meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, successfully concluded, and both sides reached an agreement on 13 key points aimed at strengthening peace and stability along the common border," reads a statement published by Cambodia's national news agency (AKP).
