Syria claims that Israeli strikes on the capital Damascus and a military facility near the western city of Homs on Thursday morning killed one soldier and wounded seven people, as reported by the Syrian Defense Ministry, UNN writes with reference to Reuters.
Details
The attacks targeted the central Damascus district of Kafr Sousa and a military facility in rural Homs, according to a statement from the Syrian ministry, which said the strikes caused "material damage" but did not provide details.
Earlier in the day, Syrian state media reported that explosions were heard in Damascus "after Israel struck a residential building in Kafr Susa," the newspaper writes.
Israel usually does not comment on specific reports of strikes in Syria.
Israel has been striking Iranian targets in Syria for many years, but after the attack on Israel by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7 last year, it intensified its actions, the publication points out.
