Slovak PM Fico says he has returned to work after assassination attempt

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who survived an assassination attempt in May, returned to work after recovering from his injuries.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was assassinated in May, has returned to work. Fico announced this on his Facebook page, UNN reports.

"Dear progressive liberal media and opposition, sorry I survived, but I'm back," Fico wrote.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal had a conversation with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. Fico condemned the attack on Okhmatdyt. Slovakia expressed its readiness to accept some children for treatment accompanied by their parents, including  those with cancer.

As UNN reported, on July 6 , the Prime Minister of Slovakia made his first public appearance after the assassination attempt. During his speech at the ceremony of the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, he supported Viktor Orban's visit to Russia.

Recall

In May, Fico survived an assassination attempt in the town of Handlova, when he was shot several times at close range by writer Juraj Cintula. The bullets hit him in the stomach, and the operation, which took place in a local hospital, lasted 5 hours. At the end of May, he was transported from the hospital in Banská Bystrica to Bratislava, and continued his recovery at home.

In early June, Fico posted a videoin which he said that "it will be a small miracle if I return to work in a few weeks.
