The SBU confirmed the strike on the Permnefteorgsintez refinery for the third time, as well as a oil pumping station in Perm, Russia, UNN reports.
Fulfilling the tasks set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, tonight specialists from the SBU's "Alpha" Special Operations Center targeted the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery and the "Perm" linear production and dispatch station (LPDS). Both facilities are located more than 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine,
This refinery is reportedly one of Russia's largest oil refineries, providing fuel for both the civilian sector and the needs of the Russian army. The "Perm" LPDS belongs to JSC Transneft and is a strategically important hub of the Russian Federation's main oil transportation system. Through this station, oil is distributed in four directions, including to the Perm refinery.
"As a result of the SBU drone attack on the Permnefteorgsintez refinery, a fire broke out at one of the CDU (crude distillation unit) units, which is a key node for primary oil refining. At the oil pumping station, one of the reservoirs was hit," the SBU reported.
"The SBU continues to systematically strike the oil infrastructure of the Russian Federation, which is one of the main sources of filling the Russian budget and financing the war against Ukraine. Striking such facilities not only reduces the volume of oil refining and transportation but also destabilizes the enemy's military logistics, complicates the fuel supply for the occupation forces, and forces the Kremlin to direct billions in resources toward the emergency restoration of strategic facilities deep in the rear," the SBU emphasized.
