The Russian attack on the energy sector in Odesa region led to a state-level emergency, said Odesa OVA head Oleh Kiper on Wednesday, UNN reports.
The emergency situation, which arose as a result of a massive enemy attack on the energy infrastructure of Odesa region, has acquired the status of a state-level emergency.
According to him, the relevant decision was made at a meeting of the commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations in the Odesa regional military administration.
"The reason was the consequences of the Russian attack on energy facilities recently, which led to a long-term - more than 3 days - disruption of normal living conditions for more than 50 thousand residents of the region," Kiper said.
According to him, by a separate decision, the commission instructed the heads of military administrations, community leaders, and National Police bodies "to conduct preventive and explanatory work with entrepreneurs on the need for minimal use of illumination and decorative lighting in order to save electricity for the population and critical infrastructure facilities."
"In addition, a decision was made to additionally allocate part of the reserve fund to communities to replenish fuel and lubricants. This is necessary to ensure the uninterrupted operation of generators that power critical infrastructure facilities: hospitals, educational institutions, invincibility points, and other vital institutions," Kiper noted.
