The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, has placed responsibility for the sea drone explosion in Constanța on the Russian Federation. The craft lost control due to the actions of the aggressor state.

Russia bears responsibility for the incident involving a naval drone that exploded in the Romanian port of Constanța. This was stated by Romanian President Nicușor Dan on the X social network, UNN reports.

Details

According to him, it is undoubtedly a Ukrainian drone loaded with explosives, which was part of a group of four drones that lost control.

Following recent diplomatic contacts with Ukraine, a dialogue is constantly being maintained, and a certain form of protocol has already been envisioned, which will also cover this type of event. Responsibility for any such events lies with Russia, which is the aggressor country, while Ukraine is the country undergoing aggression and defending itself,

- Dan noted.

He added that "the theory that the drones which lost control were pursuing a vessel from Russia's 'shadow fleet' is not confirmed."

"We are talking about a vessel that is not identified by the European Union or the United States on the sanctions list and which has already traveled this same trade route several times," the Romanian President summarized.

As a reminder

On June 5, a naval drone exploded in the port of Constanța on Romania's Black Sea coast.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine warned the Romanian side that the drone lost control due to Russian jamming.
