Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to appear well-informed about the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine, while Russian milbloggers continue to complain about the lies of Russian commanders regarding Russian offensives. It is noted that during an organized event with the personnel of the Russian Navy on July 26, Putin stated that he primarily relies on information from official sources, but analyzes the entire spectrum of information he receives to make final conclusions. At the same time, according to him, there are also "bloggers" whom he sometimes reads, and some of them "hit the mark" and do a good job, while others pursue only their own interests.
Russian milbloggers have long complained that Russian commanders and officials lie about Russian offensives on the battlefield. ... On July 28, a Russian milblogger stated that the situation for Russian troops is positive only in the direction of Oleksandrivka, but "things are worse" in other sectors of the front, even though Ukrainian officials report less frequently about the successes of Ukrainian troops on the battlefield,
Also, according to them, Kremlin officials are considering a wide range of options for potential mobilization in the Russian Federation.
"Mobilization is exclusively Putin's personal decision, which depends on his personal perception of the situation on the battlefield and the Kremlin's honesty, and it remains unclear whether Putin will decide to introduce mobilization and how exactly," ISW concludes.
