US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that Washington and Israel did not promise a ceasefire in Lebanon amid agreements with Iran. This is reported by UNN with reference to Al Jazeera.
Details
According to Vance, any statements to the contrary are propaganda or a mistake that can be called "folly." As Vance said, "to derail a major deal over the situation in a neighboring country would be a strategic mistake."
If Iran wants to allow these negotiations to fall apart - in a conflict where they have been so heavily involved - over Lebanon, which has nothing to do with them and which the United States has never said is part of a ceasefire, then that is ultimately their choice.
He added that Tehran might be a victim of its own illusion, as the Iranians simply "thought" that the ceasefire extended to Lebanon.
Context
Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reported on ceasefire violations in several locations in the Middle East.
Previously, the Israel Defense Forces stated that the ceasefire within the operation against Iran does not apply to the Hezbollah group, against which the military continues operations in Lebanon.
