MP Kwan reported that the Canadian delegation had informed the Israeli side in advance about the trip, which included meetings with non-governmental organizations and representatives of Palestinian and Jewish civil society. Electronic entry permits were "pre-approved," but at the Allenby Bridge checkpoint on Tuesday, the entire delegation was denied entry.
Kwan suggested that the ban might be related to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's decision to recognize the State of Palestine during the UN General Assembly in September.
