Prosecutors have sent to court the case against the heads of organizations that prepared Ukrainian children in Crimea for service in the Russian army. They received almost 4.5 million rubles in grants for this activity.

Prosecutors of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol have sent to court an indictment against the heads of the organizations "Union of Border Guards of Crimea", the military-patriotic club "Varyag" and the eponymous maritime training center. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, writes UNN.

Details

In April 2026, they were notified of suspicion of war crimes committed by a group of persons. In addition, two of them are charged with justifying the armed aggression of the russian federation.

Under the guise of military-patriotic education, the accused systematically prepared Ukrainian children in occupied Crimea for future service in the armed forces of the aggressor state

- the statement reads.

Schoolchildren were taught handling of firearms, combat tactics, military field, rescue and light diving training. They conducted shooting exercises, tactical training and military games, and participants of the so-called "svo" were involved in the classes.

The organizers also agitated children to join the russian army through pro-Kremlin media and took part in propaganda events.

The investigation documented at least four cases when graduates of the "Varyag" club, after reaching adulthood, joined the ranks of the russian army or began working in the occupation law enforcement agencies.

To develop this activity, in 2023 the accused received almost 4.5 million rubles of the so-called presidential grant, as well as a land plot in Simferopol, where they equipped a training complex for initial military training.

Through such organizations, the occupation authorities involve Ukrainian children in the military environment, impose on them a russian identity and form the perception of service in the russian army as a norm.
