The bulk carrier "Hui Yuan" is registered in Panama and was en route from Russia to Las Palmas, Spain. During a patrol of the Baltic Sea, a Swedish Coast Guard aircraft discovered that coal residues were being discharged from the vessel into the sea. This is a violation of the Environmental Protection Code.
The vessel was inspected in the area near the coast of Ystad around 08:00 AM on Sunday, April 12.
A preliminary investigation has been launched into this incident. The prosecutor decided to hold a hearing. The suspicion is a violation of the Environmental Protection Code
