Robert Fico will meet with Putin in Moscow on May 9 to honor the memory of fallen soldiers. The Slovak Prime Minister will not attend the military parade.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to visit Moscow on Saturday, May 9, to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but does not intend to attend the military parade. This was reported by TASR, according to UNN

"I will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Red Army to express gratitude for the liberation on behalf of Slovak women and men, and I am to have a brief meeting with President Putin. That is all. I am not going to attend any military parade. It will be the same format as before,"

He added that the war between Russia and Ukraine began some time ago and had a certain historical context. 

"I will not allow myself to be put in a position where I have to feel any remorse," 

he added.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that a truce would be declared on May 8 and 9 on the occasion of "Victory Day" and immediately resorted to threats to strike the center of Kyiv in case of an attempt to "disrupt the celebrations."
