Polish President Andrzej Duda has reacted to the statement of the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosinyak-Kamysh, who said that Ukraine cannot join the EU without resolving the Volyn issue, pointing out that "if someone says that they will block Ukraine's access to the EU, it is in line with Vladimir Putin's policy." The Polish President commented on the statement by Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamisz, who said that if the "Volyn issue" between Warsaw and Kyiv is not resolved, then, in his opinion, there will be no place for Ukraine in the European Union.

Duda noted that Putin attacked Ukraine to stop its integration with the EU. "If someone says that they will block Ukraine's access to the European Union, it is in line with Vladimir Putin's policy. Well, I don't know if this is the intention of the current government," the Polish president said.

"I would like to know what exactly ministers and prime ministers mean when they make such statements," Duda said, adding that "these are complicated issues.

"I tried to act in such a way as not to create points of tension between Warsaw and Kyiv (...). It was not easy, because there are difficult issues between us. But I also spoke about these issues with President Zelensky, and the best example of this was the president's presence in Lutsk, on the anniversary of the Volyn tragedy," Duda said.

"It is also in Ukraine's interest to find an agreement with us on all complex issues, including historical ones," the Polish president said.
