An agricultural project in Belarus will be costly for Saxony's AfD member of parliament, Jörg Dornau. Because Dornau violated his legal obligation to disclose information and failed to report his involvement in the company 000 Zybulka-BEL in Belarus within the statutory deadline, the representative of the Alternative for Germany party will be heavily fined.
The Presidium imposed a fine of 20,862 euros, the country's parliament reported. This corresponds to three times the basic monthly compensation.
"No one can simply go to the dictatorship of Belarus and set up a farm there, especially no one from Germany," said Rico Gebhardt, leader of the left-wing faction (Die Linke).
