A Condor Airways plane with 273 passengers and 8 crew members made an emergency landing in the Italian city of Brindisi due to an engine fire after taking off from the Greek island of Corfu. This was reported by UNN with reference to In-Cyprus.

The right engine of the Boeing 757-300 caught fire at an altitude of about 1500 feet, when the plane was just gaining altitude. Witnesses reported a loud sound, similar to an explosion. The liner was performing flight DE3665 to Düsseldorf and was carrying mostly German tourists.
The pilots promptly shut down the faulty engine and turned the plane around, and Corfu airport was put on emergency mode. However, the crew decided not to land on the island, but to continue the flight with one engine. Eventually, the liner landed in Brindisi, Italy.
