The United Kingdom has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia, aimed at restricting drone production and combating schemes involving the use of foreign migrants in the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, according to UNN.

Details

The sanctions target 35 individuals and legal entities involved both in the supply of components for Russian drones and in the recruitment of foreigners to participate in the war.

Migrants used as "cannon fodder"

The British government states that Russia is actively using vulnerable migrants to support its army.

The practice of exploiting vulnerable people to support Russia's illegal war is barbaric

 - stated Sanctions Minister Stephen Doughty.

According to London, foreigners are lured with promises of a better life, after which they are either sent to the front or recruited to work at military enterprises.

In particular, the Alabuga Start program is mentioned, which is linked to drone production in the Russian Federation.

A blow to Russian drone production

The new sanctions are also aimed at disrupting supply chains for drone components.

Britain emphasizes that drones have become one of the key tools of Russian attacks on Ukraine.

These sanctions target those who supply components and technology for Russian drones used to strike civilian infrastructure

- the statement noted.

It is estimated that in March 2026, Russia launched over 200 drones daily - a record figure.

Foreign companies also hit by sanctions

The restrictions affected not only Russian entities but also companies from third countries, including China and Thailand, which supplied critical components for the Russian military industry.

Among the sanctioned individuals is Pavlo Nikitin, associated with the development of the VT-40 drone, which is widely used in the war against Ukraine.

Sanctions also affected individuals involved in the recruitment of foreigners, including Polina Azarnykh, who organized the transfer of people from Middle Eastern and African countries to the combat zone.

Increasing pressure on Russia

London emphasizes that it will continue to systematically increase economic and political pressure on the Kremlin.

We will continue to use all sanctions tools to weaken Russia's war machine and support Ukraine

- Doughty emphasized.

Thus, Britain is attempting to simultaneously strike at Russia's military potential and dismantle the schemes that allow the Kremlin to replenish resources for waging war.
