Almost 400 Ukrzaliznytsia cars have air conditioning in branded trains, while another 650 cars have outdated air conditioning systems that may work intermittently during the summer heat, Ukrzaliznytsia said on Thursday, UNN reports.

"This weekend the heat promises to return again, which means that the question of how to make your train ride as comfortable as possible is gaining relevance again," Ukrzaliznytsia noted and told more about the "hottest" topic.
"Almost 400 Ukrzaliznytsia cars are guaranteed to be equipped with a functional air conditioning system: first of all, such cars are part of trains No. 92/91 Lviv-Kyiv, No. 106/105 Odesa-Kyiv, No. 63/64 Kharkiv-Lviv, No. 12/11 Lviv-Odesa, No. 29/30 Kyiv-Uzhhorod, No. 15/16 Kharkiv-Yasinia, No. 17/18 Kharkiv-Uzhhorod, and a number of other branded trains," UZ said.
All of them are reportedly labeled as "snowflakes" in the app and on the Ukrzaliznytsia website.
"About 650 other cars also have air conditioning, but they are of an outdated modification, so they can operate intermittently. We do not mark such cars with the "snowflake" mark, despite the physical presence of air conditioning. At maximum air temperatures, cooling in this car may be weak, so we signal this at the stage of purchase by the absence of a "snowflake"," UZ said.

Before the summer transportation season, the railroad, according to UZ, repaired air conditioning systems in 168 cars: this is already helping to make travel more comfortable.
The air conditioning system in the cars reportedly has its own peculiarities: it starts working 20 minutes after the train departs, and the air conditioner gains full power when the train is moving at a speed of more than 40 km/h.
"It is interesting that the presence or absence of air conditioning in a car does not directly affect the cost of a ticket in it, as the latter is formed mainly depending on the length of the route, train brand, car category, and seat class," UZ said.
The temperature standard in air-conditioned cars, as indicated, should be within +22...+26 ℃.
