Fakes about quarrels between generals and an alleged audit in military units are being massively spread on social media. The goal of the attack is to discredit the command and provoke a split in the Defense Forces.

A massive disinformation attack is being recorded on social media targeting the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), reports UNN.

Details

It is noted that on social media platforms Facebook, Threads, and other resources, outright fakes, disinformation and manipulative materials, as well as unverified rumors regarding the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are being massively published.

Mostly through bot accounts, disinformation is being spread about quarrels between generals that allegedly almost lead to fights, messages about supposedly "unprecedented inspections, searches and audits in military units," "dissolution of TCCs" or "sending all TCC employees to the front," etc.

- indicate at the CCD.

There they emphasize that the scheme of mass distribution of such materials on social media aims to discredit the military command, provoke conflicts, and create a split in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

"Furthermore, by spreading fake statements on behalf of Mykhailo Drapatyi, they are trying to form inflated expectations and a distorted perception of reality in society for the subsequent discrediting of the commander-in-chief on these issues. Trust only verified sources of information," urged the CCD.

Reminder

In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, journalists were urged to check information more thoroughly. This happened after reports of an audit appeared on the supposedly personal page of the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatyi, on the social network "X" - which later turned out to be a fake.
