As reported, on the afternoon of August 14, residents of various districts of Almaty, Kazakhstan, began reporting disruptions to the power supply.
The cause was an emergency shutdown of 500 kV overhead power transmission lines belonging to JSC "KEGOC".
It later emerged that there was also no electricity in Almaty Region, Turkistan Region, the Zhetisu Region, and even in other Central Asian countries: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
According to reports, power has now begun to be restored.
Electricity has begun to be restored in some districts of Almaty. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan had previously stated that power supplies in Almaty and other regions of Kazakhstan would be fully restored shortly.
The agency reported that power supply via the JSC "KEGOC" line had been fully restored. The situation is being monitored.
