This year, Ukraine's defense industry output has tripled, and President Zelenskyy has praised the sector's growth.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with executives and employees of public and private companies in the defense industry, emphasized that this year it was possible to triple the production of weapons and equipment compared to last year, UNN reports.

"I thank you for each of your initiatives in the Ukrainian defense sector and for all your personal energy, for all the implemented ideas that add strength to each of us, to the state of Ukraine as a whole," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that this year, thanks to the companies of the Ukrainian defense industry, it was possible to triple the production of weapons and equipment compared to last year, as well as to increase the production of necessary ammunition, in particular for artillery.

Zelensky noted that thanks to Ukrainian defense companies, it was possible to systematically deploy the production of ammunition for domestic drones, and the quantitative and qualitative indicators of missile production have increased.

Next year, special attention will be paid to the production of explosives and gunpowder, which are in short supply in the world. Ukraine's task is as clear as possible: we have to make our state so strong and effective that Russia feels that every strike they make will be met with a response from us. This task can only be accomplished through sufficient domestic arms production. Anyone who provides Ukraine with equipment, ammunition, and all the necessary weapons also provides our state with political independence

- the Head of State said.

The President also noted that the share of private companies in Ukraine's defense industry is constantly growing. Four out of five defense companies are already non-state enterprises.

Zelensky emphasized that the state, for its part, will continue to simplify bureaucratic procedures - from importing components to the commissioning process, and the government is working to secure financing for long-term contracts.

"Ukraine's defense complex will become part of the international defense system, and there are already agreements with a number of leading countries and companies in the world on joint production," Zelenskyy summarized.
