Zelenskyy said that new partners plan to join the FREYJA anti-ballistic initiative

The President of Ukraine said that the European FREYJA anti-ballistic program is already operational and that new partners will join it.
The FREYJA program, which is intended to provide protection against ballistic missiles, is already actively underway, and new partners will join it. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this, reports UNN.
Our FREYJA program—the joint European antiballistic system—is already actively underway. There are ten countries, and more of our partners will join. Those partners who can provide real support. We have already agreed on this. I am grateful to all the companies that are ready to work within the framework of the Antiballistic Coalition. These are leading European companies. Ukraine is capable of developing its own missile and launcher; our partners will provide the necessary components and critical elements: radars, sensors, and other things that are needed. A truly large-scale antiballistic program of its own will greatly help everyone in Europe
He reported on the results of a meeting at which the details of the project's implementation were discussed.
We went over in detail what is still needed—what steps are required from our state and what is required from our partners—so that Ukrainian arms manufacturers and Ukrainian developers could deliver a real result. A minimum number of countries in the world have created such an antiballistic project for themselves. Ukraine must join this group of states. We are creating all the conditions for this. Others developed their systems over decades. Ukraine must do this as quickly as possible, so that there are concrete results by the turn of 2026–2027
The President also reminded that Ukraine is working on developing its own ballistic capabilities.
Ukraine is also working to ensure that we have our own ballistic missiles. The tests have shown good prospects. We need to turn this into a real weapon

The project to create the joint European FREYJA antiballistic shield officially began on July 13, when Ukraine and nine other European countries signed the declaration of the Antiballistic Coalition. At that time, 12 defense companies joined it, including Eurosam, Leonardo, Thales, and Saab.
The Freyja project, intended to provide interception of Russian ballistic missiles, is being built on the basis of the FP-7.x interceptor missile from Fire Point; the system's other components are being provided by European defense companies.
Ukraine is also working on its own ballistic capabilities. In July of this year, the Ministry of Defense announced the successful test of a Ukrainian ballistic missile; it was likely referring to the Sapsan OTRK from the Pivdenne Design Bureau. Fire Point also has its own ballistic program. Its portfolio includes two missiles: the FP-7 and FP-9. The former has a stated range of up to 200 km, while the latter has a range of 855 km.
The company stated that the FP-7 is already ready and has already undergone about 15 test launches; it is currently at the certification stage at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The first combat launch of the FP-9 is expected in late autumn.
