Ukrainian President Zelenskyy meets with American generals at a military base in Germany; talks with Chancellor Scholz are not scheduled as he is in Brussels.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US generals in Germany, talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are not planned, UNN reports citing BILD.
According to media reports, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Germany today on an unexpected visit. He flew to Frankfurt am Main, from where he went to the American military base near Wiesbaden, which is known as the Lucius Clay Barracks. The US Army Command in Europe and Africa is located there. According to local police, the President of Ukraine is expected to leave Germany immediately afterwards.
According to Paul Ronzheimer, deputy editor-in-chief of BILD, Zelensky met with American generals at the air base. Negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are not planned, as he is in Brussels.
"According to my information, Zelenskyy visited only Wiesbaden, where American troops are stationed, and the president (of Ukraine) met with American generals there today. In the evening (Zelenskyy is) flying back to Ukraine. A meeting with Scholz is not planned, as the chancellor is still in Brussels," Ronzheimer said.
