President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Jakobsdottir discussed Ukraine's formula for peace and Iceland's commitment to energy security and support for Ukraine's EU and NATO membership ambitions.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula and Iceland's readiness to join the implementation of the energy security clause with Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir. UNN reports this with reference to the OP.

"I had a good meeting with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir. I am grateful for Iceland's political, diplomatic, sanctions and humanitarian support, as well as for the creation of the Register of Damages and the principled position on the need to bring Russia to justice for its crimes," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

Zelenskyy said they had coordinated the next international steps and discussed long-term support for 2024 and beyond.

"Our common goal is to protect freedom in Ukraine and across Europe, and we are working together to achieve it," Zelenskiy said.

The Presidential Office also provided details of the meeting between Zelenskyy and Jacobsdottir.

"He (Zelenskyy - ed.)  also expressed gratitude for the fulfillment of previous agreements and the transfer of the mobile hospital and for the readiness to provide long-term economic support and participate in demining," the statement said.

The President emphasized the importance of the Icelandic side's work to return Ukrainian children illegally taken by the Russian occupiers to their homeland.

"The interlocutors touched upon the challenges for Ukrainian education related to the war and the provision of bomb shelters for schools. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Katrin Jakobsdóttir discussed the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula and Iceland's readiness to join the implementation of the energy security clause," the statement said.
