President Zelenskyy signs a law that simplifies the import of humanitarian aid, including exempting cars for military use from taxation. The law also supports the energy sector and requires electronic reporting of aid starting in 2024.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Bill No. 9111 on simplifying the import of humanitarian aid, which also allows volunteers to import cars for the front without duty, according to the parliament's website, UNN reports.

"21.12.2023 - returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine," the document's status report reads.

The law exempts from taxation, among other things, vehicles included in humanitarian aid and supplied for the defense of Ukraine, as well as for use by military personnel.

Medical devices and medicines are also recognized as humanitarian aid.

The law also regulates the provision of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the energy sector affected by Russian missile strikes.

The Parliament has instructed the government to take measures to ensure electronic reporting through an automated system for registering humanitarian aid from January 1, 2024.
